Add your family

Print or share
Download a vector PDF that prints sharp at any size, or save a 300 dpi image to share or frame.
Why use Draw Family Tree
Made for printing, and private by design.
Private by design
No account and no upload. Your tree is saved in your own browser, and you can keep a copy as a small file.
Three chart styles
Branches and leaves, classic parchment or clean modern boxes, as a tree, a fan chart or a pedigree chart.
Print-ready PDF
Vector PDFs on Letter, A4, Tabloid or A3, sharp at any size and ready to frame.
Free, no watermark
Every chart is free to download and print, as often as you like.
Prefer to fill it in by hand?
Print a blank family tree template and write the names in.
Which chart should I choose?
- Family tree (3 or 4 generations): the classic picture, with you at the bottom and your ancestors above. Best for gifts, school projects and framing. Brothers and sisters can stand next to you.
- Fan chart (4 to 6 generations): your ancestors as rings in a half circle. It fits the most people on one page, up to 63.
- Pedigree chart (4 or 5 generations): the standard genealogy form, with each ancestor numbered. Best for research and for sharing with relatives who do genealogy.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. The site is paid for by ads.
Where is my family tree saved?
In your own browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to a server. To keep a copy or continue on another device, use Save tree file and open it there with Open tree file.
Can I print it big?
Yes. The PDF is vector, so it stays sharp at any size. Choose Tabloid or A3, or save the image and print it as a poster across several sheets with the Home Print Kit poster maker.
Can I add aunts, uncles and cousins?
The charts follow your direct line: parents, grandparents and further back, plus your brothers and sisters on the family tree. To see how other relatives are related to you, use the cousin chart.
What if I do not know a name?
Leave it empty. Empty boxes print as blank lines, so you can write the name in later by hand.
